Club Descriptions – Primary

Beadwork

Miss Ita

Through beadwork club, students learn the basics of jewelry making which includes beading, stringing and weaving. It is a great way to develop their cognitive, social and fine motor skills.

Beading helps the students play an integral role in repairing cultural ties and spiritual beliefs to indigenous people. It increases the self-esteem and confidence of the students as they express their creativity.

Aerobics

Pascalia Ajiambo

Aerobics is a physical exercise that combines rhythmic aerobic exercise with stretching that promotes physical fitness. The students perform with musical accompaniment to make it more entertaining.

Gymnastics

Pascalia Ajiambo

Gymnastics combines physical exercises which contribute to the development of the arms, legs, shoulder, back and chest. The girls usually work in groups and they have team leaders in each team which promotes both social and leadership skills

Volleyball

Teresa Lumala

Volleyball club ensures that those who join are able to build their communication abilities,

because we all have to work as a team in order to win each time a game is played. The girls also

learn qualities such as perseverance, critical thinking, inclusivity and consideration for their

fellow teammates, all while having fun and sharpening the skill of playing this sport.

Debating / Mjadala

Debating club is a club that gives learners an opportunity to a fun way of developing their oracy skills. They develop excellent oral and written communication skill. Through debating, critical thinking, collaboration and self-confidence are enhanced. Besides, learners overcome fears of public speaking.

The club also promotes spirit of competition and makes the members more informed about global affairs.

Readers

Jacinta Wambua

Reading club involves various fun activities like reading and discussing story books, spelling bees, learning new vocabulary, role play and dramatization. We also enjoy decoding words and engaging in word-building games that improve our memory and help to expand our imaginative skills.

Music

Naomi Kiai

In the club, the girls get to explore music composition as well as sharpen their performance skills. They get to work with each other and create beautiful songs, musical skits and dances. We also create improvised instruments. The club is a comfortable space to relax and enjoy what they love most.

Journalism Club

Angelica Oluoch

Those with a creative spirit are called to join Journalism Club. We observe, analyse, record and report on findings in and out of the school. Every member has a role; be it photographer, film maker, writer or researcher. Our main priority is capturing and preserving special moments, followed closely by enjoying ourselves and having fun.”
